Moosehead Lake Region, Maine
Challenge: The Moosehead Lake Region of Maine has long been recognized for its unique character. A gateway to Maine’s North Woods, Moosehead Lake is expansive, peppered with islands and surrounded by vast working forests and scenic mountain ranges. The Moosehead Lake Region Economic Development asked our team to help them address some challenges they have been facing: The need to extend the visitor seasons, lack of living wage jobs, a gap in mid-scale accommodations, a need for more accessibility and convenience to recreation resources, a decline in school enrollment, and a lack of activities at the end of the day for visitors.
Solution: Roger’s Community Branding program helped the Moosehead Lake Region put together their Branding, Development, and Marketing Action Plan. The action plan will achieve several goals: First, to put Moosehead Lake "on the map" as a terrific place to live, raise a family, own a business, and to visit. Second, to differentiate Moosehead Lake from the other 490+ communities in Maine - and throughout New England. Next, to encourage families to move to Moosehead Lake. Next, to develop a year round, sustainable economy (tourism based). Finally, to bring back the prosperity and population that was here in the early 70s. Bottom Line: This is about jobs and bringing the region back to prosperity.
Moosehead Lake is one of the most stunningly beautiful places in America.
